Marion City Council will vote on whether to ask the Ohio Auditor s Office to investigate after a Marion auditor s employee fell for a $4,000 email scam.
The Finance Committee held a special meeting on Tuesday evening where it passed a resolution to send its findings into this incident to the State Auditor to investigate and take any and all actions he deems necessary to assist Council in protecting the financial well being of the City. This decision to move the resolution onto Council s floor next week was passed unanimously by Councilmen Josh Daniels, I-At Large; Jason Schaber, R-3rd Ward; and Kai Meade, D-1st Ward.

Marion police find missing girl safe
Police say Jaidyn Maag ran away from her home on Marion s west side on May 12 and did not return.

The Marion Police Department is asking for help locating a 16-year-old girl who may be with her mother who has warrants out for her arrest.
Police say Jaidyn Maag ran away from her home on Marion s west side on May 12 and did not return.
It is believed Maag may be with her mother Sarah Snyder, 35, who has a warrant out for her arrest out of Ontario, Ohio.
Marion police investigate tactics used during a recent arrest

MARION, IL (WSIL) A video circulating on social media showing four Marion police officers making an arrest is under review by the Marion Police Department.
The incident happened late Friday night, May 21 near Pookie s Beer, Burgers, and Bocce. Officers responded to the 200 block of East Marion Street for calls of bottles being thrown at passing motorists.
During the search for the suspect, a male not involved in the incident allegedly began interfering with the police investigation and exhibited hostile behavior. The man tried to re-enter Pookies and pushed a female bartender while trying to get away from the police.
