Czech Rep., May 26 (BD) – Yesterday, TOP 09 MP Dominik Feri announced his resignation from parliament following accusations of inappropriate sexual behavior. He will also no longer participate in the October parliamentary elections, in which he was due to be placed fourth on the list in Prague for the SPOLU coalition.
Many women have shared accounts of Feri’s inappropriate behavior. Some claim that he had sex with them, even though they explicitly refused. Others said that he tried to obtain their intimate photos or publicly shame them. These accounts were obtained and verified via a joint investigation by Deník N and Alarm. In response, Feri denied
In recent days the two center-right election groupings on the Czech political scene have become increasingly vocal about their aim to bring down the minority government of Prime Minister Andrej Babiš. Czech Rep., Apr 26 (BD) – The diplomatic rift between the Czech Republic and Russia began last Saturday when Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) and Deputy Prime Minister Jan Hamáček (CSSD) announced the findings of Czech intelligence services that agents of Russian military intelligence (GRU) were reasonably suspected to have caused two explosions at munitions depots in Vrbětice in the Zlín region in 2014.
Opposition politicians have criticized President Zeman for casting doubt on the outcome of the investigation into the Vrbětice blasts and thus opening the door to Russian disinformation activities.
The head of the Pirate Party Ivan Bartoš said the Czech government and Parliament considered the proof it had been presented adequate and the findings had likewise been presented to the country’s EU and NATO partners.
The leader of the Mayors and Independents, Vít Rakušan, noted that the speech had only confirmed the fact that the Czech Republic lacked a head of state who would stand by the country and its citizens.
