(WBRC) - The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened Wednesday in Winfield. Agents with the State Bureau of Investigation were called to Marion County at the request of the Winfield Police Department. The ALEA says two people were injured and taken to an area medical facility for treatment. No officers were injured in the incident. No additional details are currently available from authorities. After ALEA completes their investigation, findings will be given to the Marion County District Attorney’s office.

MARION COUNTY Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Marion County. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), special agents with the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) are investigating a shooting that involves at least one officer with the Winfield Police Department. The investigation began on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020 at the request of the Winfield Police Department. According to a statement from ALEA, the shooting sent two people to a medical facility for treatment. No officers were injured, according to the statement. No further information is available regarding the investigation. Once the investigation is complete, ALEA will turn the findings over to the Marion County District Attorney’s Office.

(WAFF) - An investigation is underway in Marion County after a Winfield Police officer was involved in a shooting. As of December 16, the Winfield Police Department requested Special Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation to investigate an officer‐involved shooting, involving Winfield PD. According to officials with ALEA, two people were injured and transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. No officers were injured. Nothing further is available as the investigation is ongoing.

Bend man dies in police shooting in Linn County after high speed chase

A Bend man was shot and killed by police late Tuesday outside Gates after reportedly robbing two Bend businesses and fleeing nearly 100 miles in a stolen car. The alleged crime spree that ended in the death of Brad Tyler Masters, 27, began around 10:15 p.m. at the Dutch Bros location at 603 NE Third St., Bend Police said in a statement. Employees told police that a man, believed to be Masters, walked up to one of the drive-thru windows displaying a handgun and demanding money. He then ran to the nearby Domino’s Pizza location at 253 SE Yew Lane where he also showed employees a handgun and demanded money, according to Bend Police Lt. Juli McConkey.
