Record high: Marion s property value hits $24 14 billion

A commercial and residential construction boom, which continued during last year despite the pandemic, helped boost Marion County’s 2021 property value to the highest level ever, according to a preliminary estimate released Wednesday. The value of local property increased by 7.01% to $24.14 billion in 2021, surpassing the previous high mark of $22.55 billion last year and $22.35 billion in 2007, according to preliminary data released by the Marion County Property Appraiser’s Office. The overall preliminary taxable property value is projected to be $1.59 billion higher than the final value for 2020. There has been a $3.2 billion increase in taxable property value in the past two years combined. That is an increase of 15.43% in two years.

Marion s average single-family home sales price rose 20 2% in April

Overall, total sales of existing single-family homes in Marion County hit $221.3 million in April, up 91.5% from April 2020’s $115.6 million. Pending single-family home sales were up 82.5% for the month of April, from 445 in 2020 to 812 in 2021. Nationally, the median home sales price rose 19.1% to $341,600, according to the National Association of REALTORS. Manufactured home prices up 55.3% Sale prices of manufactured homes also continue to escalate in Marion, with the average price in April climbing by 55.3% in one year. The average sale price of a manufactured home rose to $111,808 in April, up from $72,005 in April 2020, the reported stated. Meanwhile, sales of Marion County manufactured homes increased by 50% in April compared with the same month a year ago. April saw 72 existing manufactured homes sold by Realtors, compared to 48 in April 2020.
