Louisa County s first COVID-19 shipment will be from Moderna the week of Dec. 21

The first shipment of COVID-19 vaccine is expected to arrive in Louisa County during the week of Dec. 21, Louisa County Public Health Service Administrator Roxanne Smith told the county board of supervisors Tuesday during its regular meeting.
“That first shipment that we get is to be given only to long-term care residents and staff and health care workers. So, that’s the first priority group,” Smith said, adding she is not sure yet which day during that week the vaccine will arrive or when vaccinations will begin.
