IFP names Augusto Silvarredonda an agent for solid wood products in Uruguay and Argentina

International Forest Products LLC (IFP) has engaged the services of Mr. Augusto Silvarredonda as an agent of the company with responsibilities covering the Uruguay and Argentina markets for solid wood products.
Augusto has worked in marketing and logistics for the log and lumber industry for more than 12 years. His previous experience has been with the very best of the region, including his most recent position at Lumin, where he was the Sales and Logistics Manager.
“We are excited about being able to work with Augusto,” said Peter Keyes, Managing Director of IFP’s Solid Wood Products group. “He has a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the business in Uruguay and Argentina, and his direct experience in marketing and shipping roundwood of various species to a wide variety of export markets will make an immediate impact on our business.
Mass timber Living Building planned for downtown Portland January 13 2021
PAE will be the anchor tenant in a mostly mass-timber office building that pushes the envelope for energy efficiency.
The engineering firm PAE, which did the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering for Seattle s Bullitt Center, is forging ahead on its own Portland headquarters.
Behind the Pine Street Market food hall and Kell s Irish pub in downtown Portland, the structure will be built to Living Building standard, the hardest benchmark to achieve in energy efficiency. It should be the first certified Living Building in Portland. The PAE Living Building is being constructed with cross-laminated timber panels and glulam columns.

MEDFORD, Ore. Jackson County Public Health on Thursday reported 103 new coronavirus cases, the highest single-day count in several weeks. Officials also reported several new potential workplace outbreaks and another death attributed to the virus.
The agency said that it began investigating a possible outbreak at Timber Products on December 21. As of Thursday, there were 15 cases linked to the outbreak between employees and their close contacts. Timber Products was previously the site of an outbreak in the spring.
