The province announced on Wednesday 1,799 new cases in the province over the past 24 hours.
There are currently 24,962 active cases across Alberta, while there have been a total of 213,635 positive tests.
There are also 737 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 169 of which are in ICUs.
Locally, Fort McMurray added 127 new cases and 87 recoveries in the past 24 hours which puts the active total at 1,515.
The rural areas added seven new cases and four recoveries, raising the total of active cases to 74.
Wood Buffalo National Park remains at one active case.
Fort McMurray and the rural areas are back to being the first and second-worst in the province when it comes to spread of the virus.

The hospital’s normal acute capacity is 107 beds, including six for the ICU. AHS has expanded to 122 beds, including 11 for the ICU.
Alberta Health spokesperson Tom McMillan said community vaccine numbers will be included in daily updates starting Monday.
Mayor, fire chief want more local COVID-19 data
Premier Jason Kenney, Alberta Health Minister Tyler Shandro and chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw are scheduled to hold a town hall meeting with municipal leaders tonight, said McMillan.
In a Wednesday morning interview, Mayor Don Scott said he has felt health authorities need to share more information with local leaders regarding hospitalizations, vaccine numbers and what specific factors are driving COVID-19’s local spread. These frustrations were shared by Regional Fire Chief Jody Butz at a Tuesday council meeting.

Fort McMurray’s active total of COVID-19 cases is seeing a big drop.
The province announced on Sunday 1,633 new cases in the province over the past 24 hours.
There are currently 25,197 active cases across Alberta, while there have been a total of 208,790 positive tests.
There are also 668 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 155 of which are in ICUs.
Locally, Fort McMurray added 61 new cases and 132 recoveries in the past 24 hours which puts the active total at 1,471.
The rural areas added two new cases and two recoveries, keeping the total of active cases at 68.

Fort McMurray’s active total of COVID-19 cases is once again rising.
The province announced on Friday 1,980 new cases in the province over the past 24 hours.
There are currently 24,860 active cases across Alberta, while there have been a total of 205,115 positive tests.
There are also 659 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 150 of which are in ICUs.
Locally, Fort McMurray added 131 new cases and 102 recoveries in the past 24 hours which puts the active total at 1,541.
The rural areas added 12 new cases and three recoveries, raising the total of active cases to 64.
