Idaho adds 233 COVID-19 cases; state awarded money for response and vaccine efforts Ian Max Stevenson, The Idaho Statesman May 12 National entities have awarded Idaho health officials funding to support ongoing vaccination efforts in a state where coronavirus caseload numbers are improving, but vaccine resistance means Idaho is lagging national averages. On Tuesday, the Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that it is awarding $22 million to Idaho s Office of Emergency Management, according to a news release. The money is meant to help state and local agencies that have had to increase staffing, purchase supplies and equipment, or divert resources to vaccinate their populations.

(Rachel Nunes/Patch file photo) MONROE, CT Local police are investigating the discovery last week of a vial of powdered cocaine at Monroe Elementary School. The vial was found by a staff member in a third grade classroom, and Monroe police were notified about the discovery immediately, according to School Superintendent Joe Kobza. Preliminary testing of the substance revealed it was cocaine. We immediately turned the situation over to the police department which, in turn, initiated an investigation, including a canine search of the room while the children were outside, Kobza wrote in a letter to parents, a copy of which was obtained by Patch.
