Perinton Standoff Ends Peacefully | NewsRadio WHAM 1180

May 15, 2021 A seven-hour standoff in Perinton ended peacefully last night and a person was taken into custody by the Monroe County Sheriff s Department. The incident on Falling Creek Drive involved a man experiencing a Mental Health Crisis and known to have several long guns. Monroe County Mental Health and other units responded while negotiators worked to convince the man to come out of his house.

Apprehended murder suspect accused of shooting, hiding 31-year-old woman The Monroe News A 32-year-old Van Buren Township man apprehended in Monroe County on Monday is accused of shooting a 31-year-old woman and then hiding her body in a storage unit in the City of Westland, according to a press release issued by the Van Buren Township Police Department. On May 9 at around 4 p.m., Van Buren police received word that a potential homicide had occurred within the township. It was later determined that a suspect had shot a female in an apartment at the Westlake Apartments, but the female victim s identity was initially unknown and her body had reportedly been moved.

Newport, MI man dead from shot in mobile home community

Updated: 4:28 PM EDT May 11, 2021 MONROE, Mich. According to the Monroe County Sheriff department, while deputies were on patrol on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at approximately 3:15 am, they heard a gunshot. Deputies searched the area and found a male victim lying near the entrance of Pleasantville Mobile Home Community at the intersection of Pleasantville Dr and George Dr.  While securing the scene and calling for assistance, deputies located a male and female couple nearby who were later determined to have been involved in the incident and were taken into custody. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and suspects knew each other. There was an altercation between the victim and the suspects that led to the shooting.
