NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: With the number of cases on the rise in both Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad districts and in neighbouring Delhi, the health department has resumed its drive to trace contacts of those who test positive.
Testing has also been ramped up in both districts.
After nearly two months, Noida saw 17 new cases in a single day on March 9. Since then, 72 cases have been added to the district’s tally.
Officials have identified around 1,500 contacts of these patients, including 339 primary contacts, who are currently under surveillance.
“We are calling up the patients twice a day to get their health update and details of their primary and secondary contacts. We are also calling up the contacts to check if they have any symptoms,” said Dr Manoj Kushwaha, the district surveillance officer, Gautam Budh Nagar.
