SRINAGAR, May 11: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today announced a slew of measures to mitigate the suffering of families who have lost their loved ones to COVID-19 pandemic.
The Lt Governor said, senior citizens who have lost only earning member of the family will be provided special pension for life while children, who have lost their parents to this calamity, will be provided with special scholarship by the Government.
“Many of our near and dear ones have left us untimely due to COVID-19. The Government has decided to reach out to each and every such family and they will be provided with financial assistance for self-employment by the Jammu & Kashmir Bank,” he said.

KATHUA, May 6: Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Department, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, who is also Incharge Secretary for development works of Kathua district, held a meeting of district administration to discuss modalities for formulation of district Capex Budget for 2021-22.
District Development Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, presented physical and financial achievements registered under district Capex budget during 2020-21 through detailed power point presentation.
While presenting the sector wise performance under last Capex budget, DDC informed the meeting that the district has achieved 100 per cent expenditure of the available allocated funds under schemes like NRLM and PMAY besides achieving 99 per cent achievement under MGNREGA of Rural Development Department.

JAMMU, May 3: Government has placed under suspension the ‘high-profile’ and ‘well-connected’ the then PRO of the then Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Kewal Krishan Sharma, who is also a Forest Guard, in the Disproportionate Assets (DA) case registered against him by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
He is also facing another FIR registered for making fake and fabricated entries in service book and the same is still under investigation.
“Pending enquiry, Kewal Krishan Sharma, son of Gian Chand Sharma of village Kachrial in Pallanwala area of Akhnoor Tehsil and presently residing in Patta Paloura area of Jammu, the then PRO to the then Deputy Chief Minister of J&K, is placed under suspension with immediate effect”, reads an order issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department.
