AES students donate items to the Humane Society

AES students donate items to the Humane Society Submitted by Avon Elementary School AVON-AES Cares is a service project organization at Avon Elementary school. The idea this year came from third grader Lyndie Snyder during her campaign for student council. She wanted to do something to make a difference with animals at the Humane Society of Fulton County. For two weeks in March, students from each class at the elementary brought in supplies for the Humane Society of Fulton County. As a contest, the winning class was promised an ice cream party. Ultimately, Pre-K, Kindergarten and second grades gifted their donations to first and fifth grades.

Fulton County s Trash Panda featured on cereal box

CANTON Anyone who lives in or around Fulton County knows Trash Panda. He’s the lovable spokescat for Fulton County Emergency Services & Disaster Agency (ESDA) who has an insatiable appetite for Fruity Pebbles. And, now, Trash Panda’s lovable mug is featured on special boxes of Fruity Pebbles. ESDA Director, Chris Helle, said they received the package from the company and were surprised. No one knows who reached out to Fruity Pebbles. It s as much a mystery to Helle as it is to anyone else. But, Trash Panda wasn t born a star. Trash Panda’s early life didn’t appear very bright. He was abandoned without his mom when he was about two to three weeks old. It was uncertain if he would make it and if he had a fighting chance he would need around the clock care for a lengthy time. Found by a good samaritan, he was taken to the Humane Society of Fulton County. Helle s wife, Stacey, is deeply involved with the Humane Society in Fulton County and the Helles had often brought a
