Cefin is pictured with his two-year-old daughter Megan Liwsi at the virtual presentation of his cheque to Mind Cymru POSTMAN Cefin Vaughan has delivered nearly £3,000 to a mental health charity thanks to his summer lockdown superhero antics. Cefin brought a smile to the faces of his customers when he donned outfits which included a leprechaun, Captain America, a Gladiator, Merlin the Wizard, Spiderman and, of course, Superman while on his rounds in Efailwen and Mynachlogddu. He and his colleagues from Narberth s Royal Mail Delivery Office hit the headlines with their crazy costumes. Cefin had so many outfits that he decided to go one step further and create a calendar featuring his fun fancy dress.
In fact, more than 57.4 million people used stations in Wales in 2018-19. And members of the public are being asked by Transport for Wales to choose a leading charity which they would like to see - as well as millions of other people - on the side of one of its trains. TfW is introducing three sets of new back carriages to its Cardiff-Holyhead services and as part of the distinctive branding of the trains they will print the livery of some of Wales biggest charities. Two of the end carriages are already set to feature Alzheimer’s Society Cymru and Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice, while the third will be voted for via Twitter.

DEESIDE S representative has congratulated Nomads Jay Catton for completing a fundraiser challenge. The Leader previously reported that Jay Catton, director of football at Connah’s Quay Nomads, has raised almost £5,500 by completely a gruelling physical challenge to kick off 2021. The dad-of-two set himself the task of clocking up 200-miles over daily runs in aid of Mind Cymru – the club’s chosen charity. Battling through cold weather, rain and even Storm Christoph – Jay laced up his running shoes throughout January and completed the challenge whilst keeping to his local area within the Welsh Government guidelines. Jack Sargeant MS and club ambassador for the Connah s Quay Nomads has praised Jay for finishing his challenge.
