The Muncie City Court judge has announced her intention to run for a Delaware County Circuit Court seat next year. Amanda Dunnuck, the current city court judge, released a statement on Saturday saying that she intends to run for Delaware County Circuit Court One as a Democrat.  The seat is currently held by Democrat Marianne Vorhees, who has been a circuit court judge since 2004. Vorhees confirmed that she will not be seeking reelection after 20 years as a judge. She served nine years as a master commissioner before becoming a circuit court judge.

Muncie father arrested for neglect after truck strikes son MUNCIE, Ind. A Muncie man was arrested on a neglect-of-a-dependent charge after his son was struck by a truck while riding a bicycle. Joshua Allen Erwin, 33, of the 2000 block of South Manville Road, continued to be held without bond in the Delaware County jail on Tuesday. City police said Erwin s son suffered abrasions from the roadway all over his legs, arms and face after his bicycle was hit by the truck at Gilbert Street and Cole Avenue shortly before 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The truck driver reported he was traveling between 20 and 25 mph when the boy rode out in front of his vehicle.

Muncie sex offender sentenced for not registering MUNCIE, Ind. A Muncie sex offender on Thursday was sentenced for failing to keep local authorities aware of his address. Kyle Lewis Barnes, 23, had pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex or violent offender, a Level 5 felony carrying up to six years in prison, and failure of a sex offender to posses identification, a misdemeanor. Delaware Circuit Court 5 Judge Thomas Cannon Jr. on Thursday gave Barnes a three-year suspended sentence. According to the Indiana Sex and Violent Offender Registry, Barnes was twice convicted of child molesting in juvenile court proceedings. He is required to register as a sex offender  making local authorities aware of where he lives and works  until May 2024.

Five arrested in Drug Task Force investigation

Five arrested in Drug Task Force investigation MUNCIE, Ind. Five people were arrested, three on dealing charges, in a Muncie-Delaware County Drug Task Force investigation. On the evening of April 1, task force members arrested Tosha Raynae Lambert, 32, and Larry Ken Brooks Jr., 38, in a traffic stop. Authorities said Lambert, earlier that day and on March 23, sold a total of 5.6 grams of meth to an informant for the task force. In the early morning hours of April 2, members of the Muncie Police Department s SWAT team served a search warrant at a home, in the 900 block of West 14th Street, where Lambert and Brooks had been staying.
