DELIVERY company Yodel could face a bill of up to £250,000 as GMB drivers take the company to court over two decades’ worth of missing overtime pay.
Up to 500 workers could have been underpaid an overtime allowance when working night shifts, some to the tune of £1,000 each, going back 20 years.
GMB said the company has so far refused to pay workers what they are owed, so the general union has enlisted lawyers Pattinson and Brewer to take Yodel to an employment tribunal.
Organiser Steve Garelick said: “Being underpaid £2.70 an hour might not sound a lot to some people but added up over weeks, months and years this can be the difference between making the rent or putting decent food on the table.
