Covid claims eight more lives, infects 1,201 others

The novel coronavirus claimed eight more lives in Sindh during the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 5,621 from the infectious disease and showing a fatality rate of 1.6 per cent.
As many as 16,262 tests were conducted and 1,201 were tested positive, with the deduction rate standing at 7.4 per cent, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said in his Covid-19 situation report on Tuesday.
So far 4,710,523 tests had been conducted against which 349,569 cases were diagnosed with the virus. Of them 91 per cent or 318,376 patients had recovered, including 535 overnight.
The CM said 25,572 patients were under treatment 24,671 in home isolation, 837 at different hospitals and 64 patients in isolation centres and 61 on ventilators.

As many as 15,342 tests were conducted and 907 people, with the deduction rate standing at six per cent current detection, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in his daily Covid-19 situation on Monday.
So far 4,694,261 tests had been conducted against which 348,368 were diagnosed with the virus. Of them 91.2 per cent or 317,841 patients had recovered, including 174 overnight.
The chief minister said that 24,914 patients were under treatment 24,032 in home isolation, 822 at different hospitals and 60 in isolation centers and 58 on ventilators.

Eight more people have died due to Covid-19 and 1,118 others have tested positive for the disease during the past 24 hours in Sindh, with the death toll due to the viral coronavirus infection reaching 5,607 in the province.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said in his daily situation report on the health emergency on Sunday that 15,998 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, resulting in 1,118 people, or seven per cent of those who were screened, being diagnosed with Covid-19.
The provincial government has so far conducted 4,678,919 tests, which have resulted in 347,461 positive cases, which means that 7.4 per cent of those screened have been found to be infected, he added.
