Three train halts removed in Guntakal division

The South Central Railway has removed three halts with effect from February 1 for all trains on Guntakal division as they are non-remunerative. These three are among the 31 stations to be closed all over the zone in Secunderabad, Nanded, Guntakal and Hyderabad divisions.
Passenger traffic will be closed at Valivedu Halt on Pulicherla-Damalcheruvu section; Reddipalle on Obuldevaripalle-Pullampet section and Mallappa Gate Halt on Guntakal Jn.-Maddikera section as they have turned unremunerative, according to a release from the South Central Railway.

Andhra Pradesh Director-General of Police, Gautam Sawang, has blamed cadres of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the attack on temples in the State, and is under fire for allegedly âspeaking like a spokespersonâ of the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).
During the weekend, Sawang came up with details of, what he called, political links to the desecration of the temples and âfalse propagandaâ on social media.

New Delhi: In a significant development in Andhra Pradesh political circles, state director general of police (DGP) Gautam Sawang accused cadres of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being behind the spate of attacks on temples and spreading false news to create enmity between religious groups.
Speaking to the media in Amaravati on Friday, he said the role of TDP and BJP workers has been clearly established in nine cases, involving 15 TDP members and four from the BJP. Thirteen TDP activists, two BJP workers are already arrested, while others are on the run, the DGP said.
