Andhra Pradesh: 7 arrested for supplying liquor bottles ahead of MPTC, ZPTC polls
Ahead of the Man Mandal Parishad (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) elections in the state, the Andhra Pradesh Police arrested seven people for allegedly supplying liquor in the state.
Andhra Pradesh Police and Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) held a special drive at Pulluru and Ganapavaram villages of Mylavaram mandal, Krishna district and seized 410 bottles of liqour from the accused.
According to SEB Assistant Superintendent D Prabhakar, SEB circle inspector Peddiraju who led the special drive, has arrested seven accused and recovered 410 liquor bottles of 180 ml each. He also seized one car and one motorcycle from their possession.

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], April 6 (ANI): The Andhra PradeshHigh Court has issued interim orders restricting the state government to conduct Man Mandal Parishad (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) elections on Thursday.
The high court passed the orders on Tuesday while hearing petitions filed by various political parties including Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Jana Sena Party (JSP). The parties had said that according to a Supreme Court verdict, there should be four weeks model code of conduct before the polling.
Once poll symbol allotted, it cannot be changed: Navataram Party

Tirupati : , April 6 (IANS) Ravu Subrahmanyam, founder of the Navataram Party, which has been allotted the glass tumbler symbol for the Tirupati bypoll by the Election Commission, on Tuesday said once a symbol has been allotted it cannot be revoked. Once Form 7A has been given, there is no objection raised on the party symbol. The decision of the returning officer is final, Subrahmanyam told IANS.
However, Andhra Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Jana Sena Party (JSP) leaders have objected to the allotment of the glass tumbler election symbol to Navataram Party, alleging that it has been deliberately done to confuse voters in the forthcoming Tirupati bypoll .

ANANTAPUR: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna faced a backlash in his home turf after a few local leaders in the region started canvassing for the upcoming Mandal Parishad and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTC/ZPTC) elections in defiance of the orders by the Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu. The Party on Friday had taken a decision to boycott the MPTC/ZPTC elections in Andhra Pradesh.
TDP leaders in Hindupur have started campaigning for TDP s ZPTC candidate Anand and MPTC candidate Ashwini. In addition to that, several TDP leaders from Hindupur are stating that they will ignore Chandrababu s boycott orders.
