Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao has asked the people’s representatives, particularly the representatives of rural local bodies (RLBs), and officials who have planted one-crore saplings on Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s birthday on February 17 to protect them till reached a safe stage to grow on their own.

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], February 15 (ANI): Elections to 12 Municipal Corporations and 75 Municipalities in Andhra Pradesh will be conducted on March 10, said the state s Election Commissioner on Monday.
Andhra Pradesh Election Commission issued a notification for the conduct of ordinary elections in 12 Municipal Corporations and 75 Municipalities in the State. The date issued for polls is March 10, and counting will be held on March 14, 2021. The model Code of Conduct will come into action from Monday.
The process of these elections was stopped midway in March 2020 citing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has decided to complete those elections.

Hyderabad, Feb 9 : Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday declared that local bodies would be strengthened and would be made to play an active role in rural development.
He said the Zilla Parishads and Mandal Parishads would be given funds like the Gram Panchayats and they would be assigned fixed responsibilities. He promised to allocate funds for Zilla and Mandal Parishads in the state s budget for 2021-2022.
Stating that the New Panchayat Raj Act has empowered the Gram Panchayats to utilise their funds totally without taking any permission from the mandal and district level officials, he called for its effective implementation.
