Manila LGU s COVID-19 storage facility now ready for the vaccines

Mayor Isko leads vaccination drive vs Measles, Rubella

CALOOCAN CITY, Feb. 3 (PIA) Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Monday, February 1, launched the annual free vaccination program against measles and rubella at the Bulwagan in Manila City Hall. The activity is a part of the Department of Health’s “Chikiting Ligtas sa  dagdag bakuna kontra Tigdas at Rubella,” aims to vaccinate children in Manila aged 9 months to 59 months from February 1 to 28. The program which is also in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, RELIEF International, and Healthy Philippines, is an annual simultaneous nationwide vaccination program of the Philippine government, together with Manila and other local government units (LGUs).

Ana Hospital The city’s 12 new high-end ambulances and members of the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Manila Police District (MPD), and Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) will be deployed to manage emergencies.

Manila sees rise in COVID-19 infections, blames holiday season

Published January 20, 2021, 5:36 PM The City of Manila is seeing an uptick of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) infections at the start of the year. Latest data from the city government showed that there are 397 active cases out of 25,858 cases in the capital city as of Wednesday noon. Of this figure, 24,685 have recovered while 776 have died. On January 1, Manila only had 295 active cases out of 24,893 confirmed cases, according to data released by the city government. Dr. Arnold Pangan, Manila Health Department (MHD) head, credited the rise in infections to the holiday season. In the beginning of the year, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said they have not seen a surge in COVID-19 infections after the holidays but said they have yet to factor in data from the last week of December 2020.
