NEW data from the World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations Children s Fund (Unicef) show signs of immunization services rebounding in some countries, but coverage still falls short of pre-coronavirus pandemic levels, particularly in low-income countries, putting children at grave risk of disease outbreaks.

President Duterte assured the public that the government is working to expedite the vaccination program against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) so children can safely return to their schools for their education.

Duterte made the statement as he led the simultaneous inauguration of two school buildings at the Gen. Gregorio H. Del Pilar Integrated School and Virginia Ramirez-Cruz High School in Barangay Sta. Ana in Bulakan, Bulacan.

In less than two weeks, the Manila city government has vaccinated 86.7 percent of the targeted population in its measles-rubella immunization drive.

Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso commended the Manila Health Department (MHD) for almost finishing the city’s vaccination drive against measles-rubella.
“’Nakakatuwa naman. Masisipag ‘yung ating mga kawani sa Manila Health Department (I’m glad, the personnel of Manila Health Department are very hardworking),” he said in a statement on Monday, Feb. 15.
