In spite of an early rain shower, the first Cinco de Mayo Day at the Branding Iron Park in Clearmont attracted a good crowd. Over 20 people from Clearmont and even Dayton came to enjoy the pot-luck Mexican food.
Ira Roadifer and Sandy Hirz of the Historical Group decided to put on the celebration, to bring attention to the Clearmont Historical Group and due in part to the fact that, as of now, no Clearmont Day Celebration is being planned.
Ira Roadifer said of the event, “It’s a pretty good turn out, I think we would have had more people if the weather had been warmer. We might have it next year, we might make it an annual event.”
