The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce Main Street Tourism Bureau along with its sponsor Mosaic Restaurant hosted their quarterly breakfast with the mayor.
This time, the breakfast was a little different as residents of Ocean Springs welcomed the new mayor, Kenny Holloway. The Breakfast with the Mayor served as an opportunity for local business owners and interested citizens to meet with the new mayor of Ocean Springs in an informal setting to learn about the plans and developments he has for the city.
Mayor Holloway discussed infrastructure plans, beautification efforts, and tourism within the City of Ocean Springs. “Well, like I said, we are doing a traffic study for downtown, parking traffic study for downtown. We are going to get the fire going again under Highway 90 and see if we can alleviate some congestion there and then we are going to tap that into 1.6 billion in Jackson and take care of this infrastructure situation we are dealing with.”

An Ocean Springs townhouse development must be demolished after not complying with zoning and structural spacing laws.
Controversy is once again stirring in Ocean Springs over the Sands Development Project. Long time Coast attorney Leonard Blackwell II represents a group of neighbors, Ocean Springs residents, who noticed an unlawful change to their neighbor. “A development was being put in the middle of their neighborhood that was about three times more dense than the law allowed.”
After reviewing the residential zoning laws, Blackwell was confident the development was breaking the law. “The developer at one point was warned by the court and indeed by the city that it was proceeding at its own risk.”

Canopy Sands Development Co Ltd, a member of Prince Holding Group, one of Cambodia’s largest and fastest growing conglomerates, approved a master plan to develop Preah Sihanouk province’s Ream bay into the $16 billion Ream City.
The masterplan specifies a land use plan for the 834ha project, which will be developed on reclaimed land and conveniently located within a 10 minutes’ drive from Sihanouk International Airport, Canopy Sands Development said in a press release.
“Ream City will act as a catalyst for the growth prospects of the entire Sihanoukville region, Cambodia’s third-largest city and home to the country’s deep-water port,” said the company, adding that the project will be developed by Surbana Jurong Group, a global urban, infrastructure and managed services consultancy headquartered in Singapore.
