Subscriber only A patient s eight month weight for an orthopaedics appointment at a Sunshine Coast hospital has prompted questions about lengthy delays. Noosa MP Sandy Bolton questioned the state government over what is being done to address the delays at Sunshine Coast University Hospital. She said the constituent had been on the Category 2 waitlist for more than 90 days and would not have an appointment for another five months. Health minister Yvette D Ath said the orthopaedic service experienced unprecedented demand in recent months . This when combined with the Federal Government s instruction in response to COVID-19, to suspend all non-urgent procedures, has resulted in some delays, Ms D Ath said.
