A 2016 drug arrest was the most recent conviction for a Jacksonville man on April 15, but his sentencing on Wednesday landed him behind bars for possibly 20 years because of his habitual felon status, according to court officials. Samuel Boswell, 46, of 467 White Oak Lane in Jacksonville, was convicted by a jury in Onslow County Superior Court for selling cocaine, delivering cocaine, manufacturing cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and two counts of possession of cocaine with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine. Afterwards, a separate hearing found Boswell a habitual felon. Judge Charles H. Henry sentenced Boswell to a total of 190-253 months (16-21 years) in jail between the drug and felon sentences, both to run consecutively in the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections.
