It was a rough winter, PennDOT official says

It was perhaps fitting that when PennDOT District 9 officials met with local government officials on Thursday, road crews — hopefully for the last time this season — were called out in some places to treat highways for snow and ice.
At the annual Bedford County transportation outreach meeting, held virtually because of lingering COVID-19 concerns, county maintenance manager Mark Yeckley reflected that “It’s been a very trying year for everybody.”
On top of continued virus concerns, the winter — coming on the heels of an exceptionally mild 2019-20 season — was a rough one, Yeckley told the group.
“It has taken a little bit of a toll,” Yeckley said.
