It was perhaps fitting that when PennDOT District 9 officials met with local government officials on Thursday, road crews â hopefully for the last time this season â were called out in some places to treat highways for snow and ice.
At the annual Bedford County transportation outreach meeting, held virtually because of lingering COVID-19 concerns, county maintenance manager Mark Yeckley reflected that âItâs been a very trying year for everybody.â
On top of continued virus concerns, the winter â coming on the heels of an exceptionally mild 2019-20 season â was a rough one, Yeckley told the group.
âIt has taken a little bit of a toll,â Yeckley said.
