SAPS New Brighton Task Team under the supervision of the Station Commander, Colonel Vuyisiwe Tembani spent tireless and sleepless nights tracking down those responsible for the senseless killing of an e-hailing taxi driver on Wednesday, 17 February 2021 in New Brighton.
It is alleged that on the mentioned date, at approximately 17:42, police responded to a complaint of a shooting in Madala Street in New Brighton. The driver, Garrison Snayers (30) was found shot dead in his Suzuki vehicle. Snayers operated as an e-hailing taxi service for the owner of the vehicle.
On Sunday, 21 February 2021, after the memorial drive-by and laying of flowers for the deceased by his family that took place at the site of his death, Col Tembani set up a task team to hunt down the suspect/s responsible for the attacks on e-hailing taxi drivers and foreign-owned shop owners in New Brighton
