Thane reports more COVID-19 recoveries, active cases below 5,000

Thane city on Wednesday reported more cases compared to the previous day, however, it also saw more recoveries and a drop in active cases.
On Wednesday, 409 people tested positive against 290 cases on Tuesday.
Whereas, 746 people were discharged against 723 a day ago, taking the number of recoveries to 1,18,612. The recovery rate stands at 94 per cent.
However, once again, eight people also lost their lives. The overall toll count stands at 1,792.
The active cases have come down to 4,806.
Six wards reported new cases below 40.

Thane city has seen an upward trend in new
COVID-19 cases in the city.
Lake city has seen a massive spike of 291 positive cases in a span of 24 hours.
On Wednesday, the city had reported 256 cases, while 205 people had tested positive on Tuesday.
Three more people also succumbed to the virus, taking the overall toll to 1,347. Whereas, 132 people were also discharged in a day. So far, 62,117 people have recovered.
