4th May, 2021 11:22:45 Bangladesh government has used the opportunity of operating special flights to five countries perfectly to send stranded workers to their workplaces. The government launched special flights to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Singapore from April 17 for expatriate workers. Consequently in the last 15 days, at least 65,000 workers have gone abroad on special flights. The major destination of these flights was the Middle Eastern countries. According to the ministry of foreign affairs, 64,883 people have flown to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Singapore since the launch of the special flight. Some 25,501 workers went to the UAE, 21,943 to Saudi Arabia and 10,498 to Qatar.
