Gandhinagar, Feb 26 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday interacted with the newly-elected corporators of AAP at Surat in Gujarat. He advised them and the workers not to let the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) continue indulging in corruption and show them the power of the opposition. The Delhi Chief Minister is in Gujarat to thank the people of Surat as the AAP clinched 27 seats in the SMC.

BJP candidates campaigning in Katargam in Surat on Thursday
Surat: The city unit of Congress cancelled its roadshow scheduled on Friday within hours of its announcement on Thursday following ‘warning’ from Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS). The roadshow in Varachha area was to be lead by Congress state president Amit Chavda.
However, Congress leaders claimed that the event was cancelled because of change in Chavda’s program at the last moment.
The roadshow was to start from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue in Mangadh Chowk, which had become the centre of Patidar quota movement in 2015.
As the Congress announced the roadshow, PAAS convener Alpesh Kathiriya released a couple of text messages on social media. Under the heading of PAAS Gujarat, one of the messages in Gujarati read “Thanks to Congress high command for accepting the challenge of PAAS. This is just the beginning, the fight will continue”.

SURAT: In a massive show of strength, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organized two rallies that were led by Delhi’s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in the city on Sunday.
The road shows held on Varachha Road and Katargam witnessed impressive turnout of the local AAP cadre. Addressing reporters before starting the road shows, Sisodia said, “Looking at Kejriwal government’s work (in Delhi), people want to give AAP an opportunity. People want BJP ousted but the only option they had was Congress.”
Sisodia accused the belagured Congress of contesting polls only to make the victory easy for BJP.
