MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Downtown Mankatoâs CityArt Walking Sculpture Tour is entering its tenth year with the debut of 31 new sculptures this weekend. Over the last decade, the tour has been highly regarded by locals and visitors.
âItâs such a great asset to our community,â said Anna Thill, President of Visit Mankato.
City leaders say the sculptures have transformed downtown streets into a vibrant and inviting landscape.
Tami Paulsen, Committee Chairperson of CityArt, mentioned, âI think public art and making the city feel more vibrant and alive has really helped spur redevelopment of downtown.â

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) â Mankato City Manager Susan Arntz announced at Monday nightâs city council meeting the city will look to book local bands for this yearâs Rib Fest.
Governor Walzâs reopening plans last week put the festival back on the summer event calendar.
Arntz said during Mondayâs meeting that hiring local bands would save the city money as well.
The future is looking bright for fireworks returning to Mankatoâs skies this Fourth of July. Arntz said the city is optimistic about fireworks returning to Riverfront Park.

NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - North Mankato city officials have a vision for Webster Avenue and what it could do for their city.
“Webster Avenue is the gateway to our community and that is a big opportunity sight for us,” North Mankato City planner, Matthew Lassonde said.
Webster Avenue has a lot going for the area and the amenities that surround it.
