Authorities investigate a deadly hit-and-run crash of a pedestrian at McKnight Road North and Margaret Street in St. Paul.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - Information from a tipster helped authorities identify and charge the alleged driver in a deadly hit-and-run crash that happened in St. Paul last week, according to charges filed in Ramsey County District Court Thursday.
Robert Wilson Kinney, 57, of Minneapolis has been charged with criminal vehicular homicide. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
According to St. Paul police, around 8:37 p.m. Friday Jan. 22, officers responded to McKnight Road North and Margaret Street, where a man had been fatally struck by a vehicle. The man was later identified as John Benjamin.

Robert Wilson Kinney, 57, of Maplewood, was charged Thursday with one count of criminal vehicular homicide in the death of John Benjamin, 68, of St. Paul.
Wilson will make his first court appearance in Ramsey County District Court on Friday morning via Zoom. We are grateful for the individual who came forward to provide critical information to law enforcement.
