Martin Luther to host Sunday waffle feed
The MLHS class of 2022 will host a waffle feed from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. They will be serving waffles with all the trimmings. The cost is a free will donation. Everyone is welcome.
CER co-ed sand volleyball begins June 10
Fairmont Community Education and Recreation Co-Ed Summer Sand Volleyball League will begin play Thursday, June 10. Games will begin 6:30 p.m. each Thursday evening through mid-August. Team registration fee is $159. Teams should register at the CER Office by May 17 to avoid late fee. Worship Center hosts breakfast
Regional Worship Center in Sherburn will host a community breakfast from 8-10 a.m. Monday at their facility located at 2 Crossroads Dr. in Sherburn. There will be a variety of food to choose from. A free will donation will be accepted. Everyone is invited for a good breakfast and fellowship.
Waffle fundraiser Wednesday in Elmore
Dad’s Belgian Waffles, based in Algona, Iowa, will serve an all-you-can-eat meal consisting of waffles, sausages, syrups, toppings, and beverages, from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Heartland Retreat Hall, formerly Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 201 E. North St. in Elmore. Tickets are $8 and are available at Kathy’s Kitchen in Elmore or from any Elmore Community Committee member. Donations received will fund the Elmore Clean-Up Day on May 22. Everyone is welcome.
Blood donation opportunity this week
There will be an American Red Cross blood drive from 8 a.m. to noon Friday at First Presbyterian Church, 706 Third Ave. in St. James. Extra sanitization will be in place. Please wear a face covering and practice good physical distancing.
