A TAMIL Nadu state minister is in hot water after videos of him being carried from a boat to shore to avoid dirtying his white shoes went viral, Makkal Osai reported.
Anitha R. Radhakrishnan, who is the minister for fisheries, fishermen’s welfare and animal husbandry, was visiting Palaverkadu to inspect erosion in the bay area when the incident happened.
He was wearing a pristine white shirt, white veshti (traditional male attire) and white shoes and appeared reluctant to get off the boat and step into the ankle-deep water around the boat.

THREE sisters in Kulim, Kedah, who were fined by the municipal council for operating an unlicensed roadside stall, have urged the authorities to show compassion and fairness to them, Makkal Osai reported.
The unnamed siblings started the stall selling snacks after their hair and make-up business took a hit because it had to remain closed during the movement control order.
The sisters said they were ordered to remove their stall and told to pay a fine immediately.
The trio were dismayed by the enforcers’ action and claimed that other stalls in the same area in Paya Besar were allowed to operate.
