A worker with the Tanjung Malim Municipal Council has received praise for his honesty in returning a purse found by the roadside,
Malaysia Nanban reported.
Lingam Sengodu spotted the purse while he was sweeping the streets in Tanjung Malim on Monday.
Inside the purse, he found an identity card along with some cash and bank cards. The worker then went to the address in Taman Bandar and returned the purse.
The grateful owner wanted to give him a reward but he refused to accept, saying that he was happy to help someone in distress.

THE school board of SJK(T) Jalan Lobak in Seremban will provide financial aid to two pupils from poor families for their education all the way to tertiary level,
Makkal Osai reported.
The board chairman Jeyakumar Muniandy said Suhasini Rajachandran and Sharveshini Subramaniam had achieved excellent results in UPSR in 2017 and 2018.
He added that to ensure that their families’ financial situation does not affect their education, the board has been giving the girls RM1,200 each a year since then to help with their expenses.
He expressed hope that the students will continue to excel in their education and make their family and primary school proud, after he handed over cheques for RM2,400 covering 2020 and 2021 to each of their mothers.

A TEENAGER from Sitiawan, Perak, has won an international Tamil public speaking competition, Makkal Osai reported.
The International Budding Star 2021 competition organised by the Vibrant Education group took place online in the last week of January.
More than 600 students from Malaysia, India, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and Oman took part in the competition.
Shalini Poobalachandar, 16, a former SJK (T) Mukin Pundut pupil who is now in SMK Methodist (ACS) Sitiawan, gave a speech on mother tongue language that was well received by judges who awarded her first place.
