St Frances Cree Bilingual School moves online following possible variant case

  SASKATOON St. Frances Cree Bilingual School on McPherson Avenue is moving to online learning after a positive COVID-19 case there is being investigated as a Variant of Concern, according to Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools (GSCS). In a release issued Sunday night, the school division said it will also be moving the Bateman Crescent location to online learning. It is working to notify parents and caregivers, according to the release. GSCS said the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is recommending all close contacts get tested, adding that risk of exposure is low for anyone not considered a close contact. Share:

An Entire School Moving Online Due to Possible Variant of Concern

The Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools says it is making the entire school move to online out of an abundance of caution after a positive COVID-19 case was identified at the school which is being investigated as a variant of concern. The Saskatchewan Health Authority is recommending all close contacts get tested. Also this weekend, officials from the Saskatchewan Health Authority informed the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Division of a positive COVID-19 case in individuals at St. Joseph High School, Holy Cross High School, and St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic School. The case at St. Joseph is being investigated as a variant of concern (VOC), and the SHA recommends that all students and staff at that school get tested.

  SASKATOON An individual at St. Frances Cree Bilingual School on McPherson Avenue has tested positive for COVID-19, according to Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools (GSCS). The school division said the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) notified it about the positive case on Saturday and is working to inform parents and caregivers. Risk of exposure is considered low for anyone not a close contact, GSCS said. The school division stressed the importance of continuing to follow COVID-19 protocols in order to decrease the spread of the infection in the community and in schools.  Related Stories
