(Photo by MWC s Sean Watson) COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Lady Cardinal Gymnastics team defeated the Tecumseh Indians on Saturday 135.15 to 127.275 in their final conference competition of the regular season. There were several highlights for the Cardinals as they honored their three seniors for 2021. Coldwater opened the competition on the vault, scoring 33.45 points. Senior Abby Travelbee earned a second place finish with her mark of 8.45.  McKenna Hantz  placed third for her efforts at 8.4.

Girls Gymnastics: Coldwater rallies for win over Parma Western

(Photo credit: Prater Studios) COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinal gymnastics team picked up a big win on Wednesday night against the Western High School Panthers. It was a nail biter that came down to the very last event where Coldwater tallied 132.95 points to Western’s 131.025 points.  The Cardinals are now 4-2 in the conference. Coldwater’s Abby Travelbee tied for second on the vault with a score of 8.45 points. McKenna Hantz picked up a fifth place finish.   Travelbee took the top honors on the uneven bars with her mark of 8.775 points. Layla Schoch earned 8.2 points for her routine and finished in third.

Coldwater gymnastics team score quad meet win at Adrian

(Photo credit: Prater Studios) ADRIAN, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School gymnastics team traveled to Adrian on Friday night for a conference match up against the Adrian Maples. Upon arrival, the team was notified that it would be a quad meet including Adrian, Monroe, and Ann Arbor. Coldwater was able to make some key lineup changes due to the changed competition format to come out on top, securing the win against Adrian, as well as the other two teams. The Cardinals posted 128.2 points, followed by Monroe with 127.35 points. Adrian was next at 70.55 points, followed by Ann Arbor with 19.6. Coldwater is now 3-1 in the conference.

Stick it for a Cure raises $6,000 for ProMedica Cancer Center

Coldwater, MI, USA / WTVB | 1590 AM · 95.5 FM | The Voice of Branch County Feb 15, 2021 5:10 AM COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater gymnastics team hosted their 11th annual Stick it for a Cure Cardinal gymnastics Invitational on Saturday which raised funds for the Cancer Center at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. Five different schools from around the state participated including Escanaba, Grand Ledge, Jackson, Parma Western, and Coldwater.  Due to the covid-19 protocols, there were some changes to the way the event was conducted. The gymnasts decided to host an online auction, sell raffle tickets, and offer an online “text to donate” option as a way to solicit donations for the local Cancer Center. The annual tradition of the basket auction carried through online and the gymnasts raised nearly $1,000 from their baskets. The raffle ticket sales brought in more than $2,600, while some of the local businesses donated more than $2,400. With some of the text to d
