One seriously injured after explosions and fire at Cedar Springs mobile home

CEDAR SPRINGS, MI A 50-year-old Cedar Springs area man was severely injured after explosions and a fire erupted at a mobile home.
Kent County sheriff’s deputies said they think the explosions were related to the possible rupture of several butane tanks in a car port attached to the home.
Firefighters responded about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 4 to the White Creek Country Estates, near White Creek Avenue NE and Egner Street, for the fire on Hemlock Street. The area is about three miles north of Cedar Springs.

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. â Authorities responded to a crash involving two vehicles in Plainfield Township today, according to Sgt. Joy Matthews with the Kent County Sheriffâs Office.
Matthews says the head-on collision was caused when a westbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck a vehicle traveling east.
The crash reportedly resulted in the death of 27-year-old Joey Thomas Jackson from Byron Center and shut down West River Drive NE between Samrick Avenue and Rogue River Road.

CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. â Kent County sheriffs responded to a crash at Edgerton Avenue and Indian Lakes Road in Cedar Springs today, according to the Kent County Sheriffâs Office.
Sgt. Joy Matthews says a 20-year-old woman was driving north in a sedan when she drove through a stop sign and ran into a westbound truck.
Weâre told both of the sedanâs occupants were taken to a hospital with injuries that are considered serious but non life threatening.
Sgt. Matthews tells us alcohol was not likely a factor in the crash, adding that two dogs were involved. One of them, a Doberman mix, reportedly ran off and is still missing. We re told the other dog is okay.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â Authorities responded to a crash on Plainfield and Jupiter this afternoon, the Kent County Sheriff s Office confirms.
Sgt. Joy Matthews tells us a car traveling north on Suburban Shores drove through a stop sign when it overturned, landing on its side at Tommy s Car Wash.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
