Un merecido homenaje fue el que se le rindió al ex pedalista Roberto ‘Patín’ Méndez por parte de los ruteros de esta capital y la región en la justa ciclista que llevara su nombre, a quién se le hizo entrega de un reconocimiento y el aplauso de los presentes, así como de sus familiares.
Tras concluir la calurosa competencia, al correrse a más de 35 grados, el coordinador de la misma, Arturo Silva Infante dio a conocer los resultados, para posteriormente en el kilómetro seis de la carretera a Villa de Casas se instaló la el podió para premiar a los ganadores de las diferentes categorías.
