BJP, Shiv Sena are not enemies despite differences: Devendra Fadnavis remark triggers buzz about renewal of ties

Highlights The Monsoon Session of the Maharashtra Assembly is beginning today MUMBAI: Devendra Fadnavis, the Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly and former chief minister of the state, has said that there might be some differences between BJP and Shiv Sena but they are not enemies.  Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Fadnavis said, There are no ifs and buts in politics. Decisions are taken according to the prevailing circumstances. There might be some differences with Shiv Sena but we are not enemies. Remember that Shiv Sena fought elections with us and after the results, joined hands with Congress and NCP.  

Maratha reservation: Uddhav Thackeray, Ajit Pawar, Ashok Chavan, Dilip Walse Patil and Balasaheb Thorat to meet governor today

ANI File Photo Days after the Supreme Court struck down the Maratha reservation, Maharashtra Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray along with few other leaders from the MVA allies is set to meet governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari today to discuss the issue. Thackeray will be accompanied by deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, Maratha reservation cabinet sub-committee head Ashok Chavan, home minister Dilip Walse Patil and revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat. The delegation will meet the governor at 5 pm at Raj Bhavan. The CM-led delegation will submit a memorandum to the governor urging him to submit it to the president of India. On May 9, the committee had decided that the state government will soon write letters to the Prime Minister and President of India to draw their attention to the issue and seek their intervention for the restoration of the quota for the 32% Maratha community in the state.
