LOUDONVILLE - Resignations, for the purpose of retirement, of two teaching staff members with a total of 66 years of experience, were accepted by the Loudonville-Perrysville Board of Education at its March 8 meeting.
Retiring were Joan Stoner, fifth-grade science teacher, who has taught a total of 36 years; and Beth Ring, elementary and junior high guidance counselor, with 30 years experience. Stoner’s retirement is effective March 31, and Ring’s at the end of the school year.
“That’s a lot of experience going all at once,” Board member Dave Hunter commented as the action was taken.

So commented Loudonville-Perrysville School Board member Roy Templeman on Feb. 8 when the board accepted the retirement of Leslie Kamenik, a teacher in the school district since 1986 and its technology coordinator since 2000.
Another board member, former L-P Superintendent John Miller, said: “In her time here, she was responsible for the district earning hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to obtain technology or upgrades, and she kept us on the leading edge of technology. Not only that, when things broke, she fixed them.”

Kamenik was born and raised in Southern California, and moved with her family to the suburbs of Denver when she was in high school.
