A male tourist sustained minor wounds after he slipped and fell while climbing a high rock cliff, widely known as the ‘death cliff,’ at Ma Pi Leng Pass in Lai Lung Commune, Meo Vac District, northern Ha Giang Province to take pictures on Sunday.
According to preliminary information, a group of tourists, including Mai Thuy H., 29, hailing from northern Son La Province, visited the well-known rock cliff early on Sunday afternoon.
While H. was climbing the cliff, which is dubbed a must-visit destination in Ha Giang for its breath-taking photography opportunity, he lost his footing and tumbled down to a lower cliff.

A large number of age-old peach blossom trees have been traded from the northern mountainous region to northern Hai Phong City in recent days, despite the Prime Minister’s ban announced last month.
In Dang Cuong Commune of An Duong District - which is famous for growing peach blossom trees in the city, hundreds of the tree trunks with roots have been left lying along the local streets, waiting for buyers.

Da Lat, Phu Quoc and Sa Pa have risen into top three most-searched destinations for Vietnamese travellers for the upcoming New Year holiday, according to a recent survey by travel agency Booking.com.
Sa Pa named among top three destinations for New Year holiday.
The survey showed that only 22% of all tourism inquiries seek urban tours while up to 44% opt for nature getaways, which can explain why urban tourism hubs are absent from the sought-after destinations for this year’s New Year holiday.

A dog named Cam from northern highlands town Moc Chau in Son La Province ended up completing a full marathon by chance in January. The dog, living at a motel near the marathon starting point, decided to join the race after seeing a stream of people passing by. Organizers decided to award him a finisher medal for completing the 42 kilometer race in 11 hours 30 minutes.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has included a project to develop a second airport in Hanoi City to its draft planning on the national system of airports by 2030.
with a vision to 2050, along with the Cao Bang airport project in the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang. The projects will not be executed in the 2020-2030 period but before 2050.
