It isn’t exactly the start of regional home-and-home series with a high-profile team the New Mexico Lobos wanted, but for now, it’ll do.
The UNM men’s basketball team has completed its non-conference scheduling after recently signing a contract to host Big Sky member Montana State in the Pit on Nov. 20.
Technically, two games remain to be finalized as the re-scheduled dates have not yet been agreed upon between the Lobos and New Mexico State Aggies, but after the pandemic led to that series not being played last season for the first time since World War II, neither school is going to be able to justify finding a way to skip those games this coming season.

But if your memories are fuzzy I ll give you the CliffsNotes version of Griz football last year: COVID-19 hits, there s still hope for a season, then there s no season, followed by plans of a shortened season, UM drops out of the shortened season, and the Griz finally play two meaningless games in the spring. So by the time early September rolls around - which is crazy to think is five weeks away - it ll be almost 2 years since the Griz played meaningful football.

Jagadish Desai was always busy doing something, whether it was helping newly arrived immigrants from India get acclimated to life in Minnesota or bridging cultural differences by building a connection between his native and adopted countries.
He and his wife set up several academic scholarships and sponsored family members to come to the United States. Numerous foreign students even came to live in the Desai home.
Desai, remembered by loved ones as a fun, outgoing, giving person with an infectious smile who strongly believed in family, friends, and community, died of a stroke on June 29 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He was 87.
