Back then, Olson worked at a mineral exploration company, and though the work was “break-back,” learning the equipment wasn’t too difficult. Fast forward 30 years later, he’s now running Rabco Services as an independent well drilling contractor in Columbia Falls and Olson says the technology is rapidly outpacing the knowledge of new workers, which are hard enough to find as it is. “We’re trying to target younger guys, we take older guys we take whoever wants to come,” Olson said in a phone interview. “I don’t even know that it’s really an age limit anymore. Everybody I know in our industry has kind of given up trying to hire somebody who’s already trained.”

(PRWEB) February 16, 2021 Manhattan Strategy Group announced today the second round of innovative practices in adult education, as selected by the Advancing Innovation in Adult Education project. The project is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE). Five practices that enable adult learners to obtain the academic and occupational skills needed to succeed in college or advance in their careers were identified. The practices will be featured in a live showcase webinar with OCTAE leadership on February 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM ET during Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, to underscore the importance of partnerships between adult education and the CTE community.

Good Samaritan Ministries is offering free tax help Mondays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The nonprofit is only taking walk-ins for tax help at this time. The East Helena United Methodist Church will also be offering free tax help on Feb. 10, 24 and Mar.24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Individuals needing tax help from either organization should bring a valid photo ID for themselves and their spouse if they are filing jointly. Both spouses need to be present if filing jointly. Other required documentation are: Social Security cards or ITIN notices/cards for all individuals on tax return; birthdates for all individuals on tax return; all Forms W-2, 1099, and information for any other income

Whitefish Ministry Agrees To Pay $118,000 In Back Wages A Christian ministry based in Whitefish which operates the Mudman Burgers chain has agreed to pay former employees roughly $118,000 in back pay and penalties for those unpaid wages. Potter’s Field Ministries agreed to pay worker’s unpaid wages following decisions against the ministry by the Montana Department of Labor and Industry last month. The state found the group illegally underpaid five employees, totaling roughly $118,000 in both back wages and penalties.  Potter’s Field In-House Council Sharon DiMuro confirmed to MTPR in a text message that the non-profit is paying its former workers what they are owed, but declined to make any further comment.
