WORRIES: Backup CEO Maura Jackson A CHARITY boss has expressed concerns over the lowering of restrictions and the increase in staff having to self-isolate after being ‘pinged’ by the NHS Track and Trace app. Backup North West, a Bolton charity which helps young homeless people to gain skills for independence, has been operating for nearly 30 years. And while the pandemic has not affected their services in any meaningful way, staff have been forced to stay off for the first time since last year. Three staff had to isolate in recent weeks, something that could become a worrying trend as restrictions relax and with ‘Freedom Day’ approaching.
