Cheshire Fire Chief Jack Casner has been named as the 2020 Connie Wallace Employee of the Year.
Casner, who has served 16 years as chief of the Cheshire FD, was honored at the most recent meeting of the Cheshire Town Council on Tuesday, Jan. 12. In announcing the award, Council Chair Rob Oris outlined Casner’s long history in the Town and how influential he has been to the community.

Chesprocott Health district launches Phase 1a of vaccinations

CHESHIRE, Conn. The Chesprocott Health District(CHD), which services Cheshire, Wolcott, and Prospect, will be distributing COVID-19 vaccines on January 2.
The event will happen at the Cheshire Town Pool at 10 a.m. The CHD received 200 doses of the Moderna Vaccine and is planning to provide local medical first responders, as well as other people part of Phase 1a.

CHESHIRE â As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, a light has appeared at the end of the tunnel.
Several vaccines have been developed in rapid fashion over the last several months, and distribution started on Monday, with health care workers receiving first priority. Last week, Chesprocott Health Director Maura Esposito gave the Town Council an update on the rollout will look in the coming weeks and months.Â
