RAWALPINDI: Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Saturday asked the opposition Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM) to accept its defeat in the Senate election.
“The opposition do not accept defeat and is making the election process controversial. The government has been trying to bring transparency in the electoral process,” he said.
Addressing a press conference, the minister said the opposition parties should review their posture and accept their defeat.
He said political maneuvering of the opposition parties had failed as the PTI emerged victorious in the Senate elections. Moreover, Prime Minister Imran Khan won a vote of confidence from the National Assembly.In the Senate elections, the PML-N turned out to be zero in Balochistan, Sindh, Islamabad and KP. They should understand that their narrative against institutions will not work.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Pakistan Democratic Movement president Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday said the multiparty opposition alliance would decide on Jan 2 about whether to take part in the coming by-elections or not.
Mr Fazl, who also heads the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl, told reporters here that the opposition was united and its main demand was the prime minister’s resignation and free and fair elections in the country.
The PDM president said all member parties were completely complying with the decisions taken during the alliance meetings.
He said the opinion of one political party or a leader should not be linked with the affairs of the PDM.
