Firefighters rescue hawks from batting cage at Plainfield home
Two red-tailed hawks became entangled in netting Monday evening. One is being treated for injuries, the other flew away.

PLAINFIELD, Ind. Firefighters in Plainfield rescued a pair of feathered friends from a family s yard Monday.
The crew from Engine 123 responded to the report that two red-tailed hawks were caught in the netting of a batting cage on South CR 600 East. After firefighters freed the birds, one of them flew away, but the other had been injured.
The wounded hawk was taken in by the Indiana Raptor Center, which planned to stabilize the bird overnight until it could be seen by a veterinarian.
Woman rescued after being trapped against bridge piling in Rogue River
A first responder wearing a personal flotation device and water rescue suit was secured with a rope and sent in to extract the woman from the water, police say.

ROCKFORD, Mich. Plainfield Fire Department personnel rescued a woman who was trapped against a bridge piling in Rockford after tubing on the Rogue River.
Police say the incident happened around 5:45 p.m. Sunday evening. Upon arrival, emergency personnel saw several float tubes tangled against the bridge piling under the Childsdale Avenue bridge. The woman was uninjured and wearing a personal flotation device, according to police. Family members were in the water with her attempting to calm her down.
One man was treated at the scene, then taken to the hospital with serious burns.

PLAINFIELD, Ind. One man was seriously injured Monday morning in a house fire in Plainfield.
According to a Facebook post from Plainfield Fire Territory, firefighters were called to the house on Locust Drive near U.S. 40 and State Road 267 just before 7 a.m. Thursday.
Crews had the fire under control within minutes. Firefighters from Avon also responded to assist.
