IPAS Malawi donate K14m Covid-19 support health equipment

In an effort aimed curbing the spread of Covid-19 which is claiming many lives in the country, IPAS Malawi on Wednesday, February 10 2021 donated health equipments worthy K14 million at Blantyre District Health Office. IPAS Malawi making the donation According to the IPAS Malawi Country Director Pansi Katenga the donated equipments which includes, sustation machines, Oxygen cylinders, trollies and other various PPEs have been donated in order to assist in protecting health workers from contracting Covid-19 while on duty and also supporting pregnant women in the isolation centres. “As IPAS we are really concerned with the negative impact that has come due to the Covid-19, so we thought it wise to come in and take part in the fight. Currently, we are planning to invest K30 million in response to the pandemic specifically in the medical part which really needs urgent support.

MBS Donates Oxygen Cylinders, Surgical Masks to QECH

As one way of complementing government’s effort in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the Malawi Bureau of Standards has donated oxygen medical cylinders and surgical masks to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre. The donation comes days after the Blantyre District Health Office revealed that the office was running out of protective materials including body bags. According to Dr Levis Eneya, who represented the MBS Board, said the assorted items cost them 3 million in total. And on his part Gift Kawalazira, Blantyre District Health Officer said the initiative will go a long way in supporting workers at the facility.

Old Mutual declares war against COVID-19, donates medical equipment worth MK30 million to Lilongwe, Blantyre DHOs

As the country is experiencing a second wave of COVID-19 which has claimed over 400 lives including two Cabinet Ministers, Old Mutual Malawi has moved in and donated assorted medicines and equipment worth K30 million to Blantyre and Lilongwe District Health Offices (DHO’s). The donation comes barely two weeks after the State President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera declared the country a state of disaster where he appealed for help from well-wishers to help in the fight against COVID-19. Speaking in an interview with the press Old Mutual Malawi Limited Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) Edith Jiya said the donation is in line with the company’s Philosophy: Responsible business.
