David Mowery, Beloved Best Southwest Santa and CPA Passes Away

David Mowery, Beloved Best Southwest Santa and CPA Passes Away April 28, 2021 One thing I see posted so often on Facebook is to take photos with your friends. Tell your friends and family how much you love them when you are with them. It especially takes hold today as I search my cameras for photos of Dave and found that all the photos I took, Vicki took, and others might have taken of him and us over the years have vanished with the many old phones which have vanished. I took this photo from an old Facebook posting on his page. It might have well been from that event that he hosted as Santa for GM, but I can’t honestly say. But, suffice to say and remember, Dave loved being Santa at events and being invited to be Santa was a highlight for him. Thank you Dave for all the good times! We will always miss you!

Sierra Club opposes land swap between state and Jackson gun club

Sierra Club opposes land swap between state and Jackson gun club Sierra Club opposes land swap between state and Jackson gun club JACKSON – The New Jersey Sierra Club has submitted comments to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) opposing the agency’s proposed land swap with the Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club, South Stump Tavern Road, Jackson. The proposal is to transfer 43 acres the DEP owns in Jackson in exchange for 87 acres the Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club owns in Upper Freehold Township, according to a press release issued by the Sierra Club on April 23. “This is a bad deal for New Jersey and open space. The state is giving away land to the rifle club that (the club) has already polluted in exchange for a less valuable property,” Jeff Tittel, the director of the New Jersey Sierra Club, was quoted as saying in the press release.

Indianapolis traffic: Roundabout coming to Twin Aire neighborhood

Road improvements near the city s new Community Justice Campus will look to fix what some in the neighborhood call dysfunction junction.   The current X-shaped intersection of Southeastern Avenue and English Avenue is right next to other intersections with South Rural Street, South Oxford Street and Twin Aire Drive. David Bacon is the pastor of New Vision Missionary Baptist Church off English Avenue, about a mile-and-a-half east of the planned road work. He s familiar with the intersection s current moniker. It’s dysfunction junction, he said.  It is. Bacon said back-to-back stoplights and sharp turns can make it difficult to navigate. While he said he hasn t seen a crash there himself, he has heard of them. In what is either an example of the intersection s peculiarity or just unfortunate timing, a Google Street View camera captured a crash in the intersection when driving by in August 2019.
